A piece of history
To trace the origins of Boca Sana Tandartsen, we go back to 2006: Peter van der Eerden and Thomas de Leth met as two eager students during their studies at ACTA (Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam). After attending lectures and practicals, they were invited in their final year of study to set up a development project in Nicaragua, which they did with complete dedication. Together with two other fellow students, they treat children there.
After graduating in the Netherlands, they established the first dental practice in Zeist and named it after their development project: Boca Sana (Spanish for “Healthy Mouth”).
It started in a residential house in Zeist-West. By now, Boca Sana Tandartsen is one of the larger (and best) dental practices in the region.
To be able to provide good care to even more patients, Boca Sana also established itself in Bunnik, where a retiring dentist wanted to hand over his patients to successors with a good feeling.
Both practices soon needed more space. In Bunnik, Boca Sana became a participant in the health center around 2020, allowing another retiring dentist to transfer his patients to Boca Sana. In the health center, it borders Standard laboratory to Boca Sana, allowing crowns and prostheses to be made to fit even better. In 2019, the opportunity arose in Zeist to convert a former farmhouse into an ideal practice, where the five rooms open onto a central sterilization room. Due to the separate patient and staff flows, optimal hygiene can be ensured, allowing minor surgical procedures to be performed within the practice as well.
In 2025, a dentist from Nieuwegein transferred his practice to Boca Sana Tandartsen. After the renovation in late 2026/early 2027, Boca Sana Tandartsen Nieuwegein is once again a fresh group practice.
In the meantime, Boca Sana Tandartsen has therefore grown into a renowned name in the region, where many patients, young and old, and often for generations, come for good oral care.
